About Our Blackberry Varietal Honey
Gathered at the height of summer, when blackberry brambles bloom across the Rogue Valley and Northern California, this varietal honey captures one of the great nectar flows of our region. Millions of blackberry blossoms produce a deep amber honey with a distinctive caramel-berry flavor, rich aroma, and remarkable depth.
Our honey is produced entirely from colonies we manage ourselves. We keep our bees without antibiotics or synthetic miticides, use no plastic foundation or plastic hive components, and place colonies in carefully selected landscapes where diverse forage and clean agricultural practices support both the bees and the honey they produce. Our bees are managed according to the Natural Nest Beekeeping principles we have developed over more than two decades of commercial beekeeping.
From hive to jar, the honey remains in our hands. We harvest, extract, and pack it ourselves in Southern Oregon. It is never heated, finely filtered, blended with outside honey, or outsourced for processing or packing. What is in the jar is the honey our bees produced in that place and season, with its character intact.
Raw honey should tell you where it came from. Our Blackberry Honey tastes like summer in the Rogue Valley.
